This is a sterling silver mustard pot complete with a cobalt blue liner that was made one year before the start of the great war.
It measures around 70 mm overall length, 40 mm wide and stands 30 mm high (35 mm to the top of the handle).
There is a full British hallmark from the Birmingham assay office with the assay mark for sterling silver, the date letter for 1913 and the maker mark. As can be seen the assay marks are rubbed but are still readable, clearly a much used item.
Free of the black marks caused by salt that has not been washed away and free of dents, dings and scratches, this mustard pot is in excellent condition and is ready for use at the table.
